How to taste whisky

Pour a measure of whisky into a glass and hold it to the light to examine the color of the liquid. The color of the whisky varies depending on the type of cask used and the number of years the liquid has been in the cask.

Hold the glass to your nose and sniff the aroma of the whisky. Swirl the liquid around the side of the glass to bring out the aromas more clearly.

Next, it’s time to taste the whisky at last. Take a sip and let the whisky roll over your tongue as you unlock the complexities and hidden depths of the flavors on the palate.

One of the pleasures of whisky is the finish. Close your eyes and let your mind concentrate on the aromas and flavors that linger in your nose and mouth.
