KENTA GOTO
Goto is a Tokyo-born Japanese who in 2011 won the American Bartender of the Year award at the world's largest cocktail event, "Tales of the Cocktail - Spirited Awards." His career as a bartender in New York City goes back 20 years. In 2015, he opened Bar Goto in Manhattan. Then in 2020, he opened his second bar, Bar Goto Niban, in Brooklyn. He is known for taking classic American cocktails and merging them with Japanese ingredients and flavors, such as the umami of dashi broth. He is regarded also as a pioneer in promoting the crossover of Japanese and American bar culture.
