Water and Air Researchers Present at the “Children’s Summit – Conference on the Future of Water and Air” at Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan

Inspired by our joint exhibition with Daikin Industries at a show themed on water and air at Expo 2025 Osaka, held in Japan’s Kansai region, we are running a special next-generation SDGs program titled: SUNTORY x DAIKIN “Out of KidZania” Water and Air Researchers – Children Proposing the Future of Water and Air from Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan.
Kicking off in August of last year, the program included hands-on work experience at two company facilities in Tottori from September 21 to 23, followed by online group work in November and January. These activities culminated in the “Children's Summit - Conference on the Future of Water and Air,” held on May 31 at the Future Life Experience venue within the Expo site. There, 24 Water and Air Researchers presented their proposals for the future of water and air, based on what they had learned and discovered.
Additionally, since April of last year, the “Change the Future! Action Rally” has been held at KidZania (Tokyo, Hyogo, and Fukuoka), where children made action pledges focusing on the theme of water and air. Over the course of a year, 24,320 action pledges for the future were collected and handed over to the 24 researchers by the KidZania CongreZZ members, entrusting them with the children’s hopes.
These hopes will be incorporated into the final proposals of the program “Weaving Water and Air with Children: From Expo 2025 to the Future,” which will be presented during the “Future of the Earth and Biodiversity” Theme Week on September 21, looking toward the future of society.
