Maturing the liqueur in these old whisky-soaked casks brings out pleasing aromas from the wood and gives it a profound and fragrant flavor that only toasted casks can achieve. This is the result of the Western spirit-making skills handed down over generations at Suntory as well as our blending techniques.

The result of this unique process is our SUNTORY Plum Liqueur Casked Umeshu (Yamazaki Casked Umeshu Blend). Its distinctive flavor presents the subtle aromas only found in cask-aged plum liqueur. It spreads across the palate with a rich and lingering finish.

The umeshu matured in casks at Yamazaki Distillery, the birthplace of Japanese whisky, is blended with a hint of brandy for a rich flavor with 16% ABV. This is the product of Suntory’s generations of Western spirit-making skills and blending techniques. We suggest a soda mixture of one part umeshu to two parts soda water. It fills the palate with a rich and lingering flavor.
